1. Connect to the Scope VPN
Before using any RDP shortcut, ensure you are connected to the Scope IPSec VPN:
- Open the FortiClient VPN application.
- Select the Scope IPSec VPN connection.
- Enter your VPN username and password.
- Wait for confirmation that the VPN is connected.
2. Open the RDP Shortcut
Scope currently have two RDP VMs. Only one user can log in to a VM at a time.
- Download at least one RDP shortcut. These will be attached to the email from us with your login information.
- If prompted, confirm that you want to open it.
Whenever possible, choose one RDP VM and continue to use it as each VM builds its own local user profiles.
Your desktop icons, application settings, and logins (e.g., Outlook) are saved only on that VM.
3. Enter Your Login Details
When the Remote Desktop window appears:
- Enter the username and password that were provided separately.
- If asked to accept a certificate warning, click Yes.
4. Multi-User Prompt
These VMs are shared between multiple users:
- If someone is already logged in, you will see a prompt.
- The logged-in user has 30 seconds to allow or reject your connection.
- If they do nothing, your login will automatically log them out.
Important: Always LOG OUT when you finish your session. Do not shut down the VM, or other users will be unable to access it.
